CAT#52 - FEDAC Manresa - Participation in the Masterclass with Agnieszka Holland

Participation in the Master Class with Agnieszka Holland

Today, the 2nd of December, our students have taken part in a Masterclass with film Director Agnieszka Holland. The students had previously watched her 1990 movie “Europa Europa” and today they have been able to ask some questions to the director.

The event has been organised by the European Film Factory, which is a European project, supported by the MEDIA sub-programme of Creative Europe, and lead by the Institut Français in partnership with ARTE Education & European Schoolnet.

Our students have had 10 minutes to speak to Mrs Holland, and have been able to ask 3 questions. She has been very through answering, and has given a good amount of details and anecdotes about the film and the film making process.

We are very grateful to have had this opportunity.

The students from Gdansk, Annonay and Bernalda also attended the Master Class through a youtube link provided by the European Film Factory to follow the event live. We are very proud of the selection of Fedac Manresa to represent the E-STAFF for this event. Link to the masterclass here.

FRA#33 - Interview of Guillaume Laurant, scriptwriter of Amélie

This is the complete and subtitled interview of Guillaume Laurant, scriptwriter of the famous film Amélie (Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain in French) who came to the Collège les Perrières school along with the director of the First Featured Film Festival of Annonay, Gaël Labanti.

The interview was lead and shot by the French E-STAFF students on Feb. 17th 2020, on the final day of the festival. The students edited the video in class on the following weeks, just before the Covid-19 lockdown. However, they didn't have time to translate Guillaume Laurant's speech and add the subtitles, which was made in May 2020 through a distance learning subtitle workshop experiment, using Padlet (link here : https://padlet.com/clemperillat/fbjhq...).

Remembering Film Festival in Annonay

The Annonay Film Festival was an unforgettable experience for all the students participating.
It was time for broadening the film analysis knowledge as well as upgrading the editing skills. Students watched masterpieces of cinematography, discussed them, shot reviews and, above all, lived with French families - their families at that time!!!

Here is a short film report on the meeting.

Here are the students' memories from the time they spent with wonderful French families:

CAT#47– Our final day in Annonay – FEDAC Manresa Mobility to Annonay Report

CAT#47– Our final day in Annonay – FEDAC Manresa Mobility to Annonay Report

Everything comes to an end eventually, and so are Erasmus mobilities. On our last day in Annonay students have edited their video reviews on the 4 films they have watched during the week. They have also posted their opinions on the etwinning site about the movies and also about the cultural heritage they got to know during the past few days.
In the afternoon, they have learn about the process of voting for the films in the context of any film festival. They have debated the films within each category and they had to argue the reason for voting one or another.
The last part was of course the certificates. We all got the certificates and took a nice group photo which will be for us a good memory of this last day.

CAT#46– Watching movies at the Annonay Film Festival – FEDAC Manresa Mobility to Annonay Report

CAT#46– Watching movies at the Annonay Film Festival – FEDAC Manresa Mobility to Annonay Report

Today it has been the second round of films for us at the Annonay Film Festival. We have watched a moving film called “Nevada” about a man and a mustang horse in a federal prison in the USA. Students have reviewed the movie and they have been touched with the story. After lunch, we have watched our last movie in the Festival. “Papicha” is about the political situation in Algeria during the terrorist attacks the country suffered in the 90s, and how young girls were going through the important changes their society was going through. It has been a tough movie to watch, but very interesting all the same.

CAT#43– FEDAC Manresa First Experiences in France – FEDAC Manresa Mobility to Annonay Report

CAT#43– FEDAC Manresa First Experiences in France – FEDAC Manresa Mobility to Annonay Report

FEDAC Manresa students arrived in Annonay on Sunday Afternoon. Families were expecting us, and they were very welcoming. Students settled into their host students’ homes but they soon went bowling all together. That was a great way to break the ice.
Monday has been a busy day. After the welcome ceremony, our students have taken part in a film review workshop to prepare  for the movies they are going to see this week. After lunch they have been to Chateau de Deomas to do a filming workshop also in preparation for the video reviews that students have to record after watching the Festival movies.
It has been an intense day, but we have learnt a lot. We are now looking forward to watching the movies.
