After learning about film genres and about the different
types of shots, our students are now learning about camera movements.
In class, we discussed 9 camera movements and we saw
examples: Panoramic, tracking, tilt, ARC, dolly, zoom, dolly&zoom, follow.
After discussing the differences, the students were very eager to try
themselves with their mobile phones.
The assignment we gave them was to shoot an action scene
with 4 different camera shots and 3 different camera movements. They had to
plan the scene and explain what each shot would be, what characters would
appear, what would they do or say, and what camera movement would be applied.
The following week they were ready to start filming. The students,
divided in groups, chose the locations in the school for their shots and they
started filming. They filmed all afternoon. They had a great time, as they
performed and filmed fights, persecutions and arguments, and of course a lot of laughing was involved at
times. With that done, the only thing remaining was the editing. That took
place the week after.
Here we are posting some of the examples of the task although
our tasks are posted on the Goggle classroom, so all the videos are kept there.
This week we dedicated an hour to view all the videos and
comment on all the groups work. We believe it is very important for all the students
to see each other’s work as they learn a lot this way.
We hope you like our videos
