FRA#35 - Finishing the short film (Year#2)

We finished our short film yesterday... and were very lucky on that one !

The seven scenes of the film were divided into seven groups for editing, another group composed the music and recorded the sounds effects, another drew the title screens and prepared the translations of the dialogues in French and another prepared the abstracts for the films of the two years.

In a second time, all the group watched the first version of the film with the teacher to adjust the transitions between all the scenes and to decide when and where to insert the music. In a third time, a group inserted the sounds and music in the final cut whereas all the other groups inserted the subtitles in French and in English in each scene (please forgive some mistakes...!). We finally made the ending credits all together. A huge job that lasted two whole days with a reduced team and harsh conditions, due to the actual crisis.

We selected the title The Meeting of Shadows as it features a bunch of teenage friends doing mock satanic rituals in an old manor. This is an important heritage site in our district as it belonged to a very powerful family of inventors, artists and adventurers, which had a huge impact on the Industrial Revolution in Europe, as you can see in our video report about it. The scenario is also loosely inspired from the books of a fantastic novelist from this family.

Well, this is it for this year ! But the project is not over. In September, if the sanitary conditions allow it, we will organize a huge reception to screen the film with all the families and the people who helped us.Enjoy your summer holidays !
