FRA#9 - first day of shooting - theatre of the Cordeliers (+ video report)

At last ! The French E-STAFF team started to shoot their first short film for the project this morning. The action took place in the theatre of the Cordeliers, the one our Spanish and Bulgarian partners visited during the film festival of Annonay in February, and in which they saw Funan and Woman at War : a beautiful place, deeply connected to cinema and to the cultural heritage of the city.

Cinema Technique

The students who had made the story-board of the first scene, along with the leading actors, were supervised by Angel Salazar, a Spanish cinema professional, and Ms. Raut, their cinema teacher. The beginning of the film was clearly the most difficult and the longest part, as it gives all the keys of the plot, and contains the biggest amount of dialogues of the film.

Education to Media

An extra group of students, who had made specific research in history and geography, prepared and shot a video report about the theatre as a heritage site. They also performed an interview of Mr. PĂ©rillat, the lead coordinator of the project, who supervised this particular aspect of the shooting. The activity ran in parallel with the shooting of the short film and will be used for the continuous assessment of the involved students throughout the project.
